About
Coming from Italian roots in the Mid West, Stephanie's family instilled in her a long time ago that only guys could get away with whatever because they were "stronger" taught a woman's place was in the kitchen, and that only men were able to get ahead in life and career. A life where she saw her grandmother slaving away for her Grandfather and her mother being beaten by her stepfather most nights, a notion that Men were far superior to women was drilled into her head. Fortunately for Stephanie, she was always a free spirit and decided a long time ago that she would become successful despite her circumstances. History
Stephanie's Story
Stephanie Kay was born and raised in Ohio. She started to attend the University at the age of 15 on an academic Scholarship while still in Highschool, where she would graduate at the age of 16. Attending the University of Toledo in her hometown as she was too young to go anywhere else. Raised by a single mother on Social Security, a scholarship was the only way to pay for her education. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and then went on to get another in Business after working in Sales and marketing for a few years and loved everything about technology and helping people.
After managing and running several companies, She went on to open her own Agency Locally where she focused primarily on the restaurant and Entertainment Industry. This was after trying to go out with friends on a Tuesday evening and not being able to locate karaoke events through google at the time, so she created a Local Directory and event website dedicated to all things to do in her town at the time. one week after launch, she was contacted by the Local Free Press to partner on the event side, as they were trying to develop something similar at the time. The website was a hit and she loved her career but decided to close down the doors in 2013 when she was pregnant with her youngest son. This was after they discovered in Utero that he had stage 4 hydronephrosis of both Kidneys . She decided it was the right thing to do as she had also just gone through a tough divorce at the time. Besides, if she were to choose to keep the doors open she may never recover financially from the medical expenses which were far more than her take home income.
She went from taking home a high 6 figure salary to Living in her Mother's basement, with her 4 children. When her youngest was only 18 months old she slipped a disc in her lower back, that would very quickly lead her into an addiction she almost wouldn't make it back from.
Stephanie had endured several hardships in her life, from every kind of abuse to losing her oldest son's father to drunk driving when she was 20 who was her high school/College Sweetheart, transgenerational trauma, and constant setbacks that had built up a strong resolve over time. Although addiction would by far be the hardest fight of her life, she would eventually make it out of this one too but only after disappearing for 2 years and trying to kill herself with every dose she put into her body, 3 flat lines later, a drug induced heart attack later, and even losing her skin from a drug called krocodile she accidentally came across, which led to spending several months in the hospital only to go out and continue using. This was only part of her experiences, but It took the most traumatic experience she would face yet to open her eyes and to want to live after her children's faces flashed before her.
Only 2 % of addicts make it out and stay recovered, the rest would end up in a coffin or in and out of institutions for the rest of their lives. These statistics she saw happen first hand and didn't lie. Her children were the reason she got sober, but with a background in Psychology, her biggest reason for staying sober was due to a combination of Mindset changes and techniques she uses daily, that she teaches throughout most of her courses. She has horrible experiences in AA, NA, HA and all the A rooms that they force on you telling you it is the only way to stay sober, but she found an experience that would work for her and she believes could save more lives for those who had similar experiences. With her 7th year of sobriety coming close on February 24th, what better way to celebrate than to release her Book that will take you into more detail about her life, battle with addiction, and use of what she calls "Mind Rehab"?
"You see we aren't healing just a disease, we need to heal all of the parts of us that want to hide under this disease, the reasons why we want to numb. We need to heal the trauma, and most don't even know that it's trauma - whether it be our own or generational trauma we inherited through our lineage and from ancestor to ancestors." says Stephanie
Vision
To create a safe and encouraging environment for girls, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community to authentically express themselves, embracing their own unique power without reservation.
We strive for a world where the "Gender equality is 50-50” and will become a reality; a world where women equally participate in public sectors and become the leaders of change, progress and social evolution. However, traditional routes of education are expensive and not everyone can receive a scholarship. More people who aren't born with the means to pay for a fancy education deserve access to resources to help them evolve. All of these factors are the reason behind girl-ceos, however, I only focus on coaching women as I better relate and am certified for specific types of trauma more related to women.
We will inspire, motivate, and offer practical steps to revolutionize your life. Your fears and insecurities may have altered your view of others, and yourself, but as you work through Girl-CEO's workshops, you can break through and use to revolutionize your life. You will come to understand that you don't have to live your future defined by anyone else's rules but your own. Break free from the chains of the past and through into what awaits you in the future.
Everyone faces trials in life, and everyone will fail at one point in life. But failure shouldn't be the focus. Our focus should be not on who you were but rather on the pursuit of who you can become and who you are becoming.
"My kids friends open up to me and you would be surprised in 2024 how many parents abuse or reject their own children due to things such as their children's gender identity preferences, sexual orientations, etc. I find it disturbing, and will offer a safe environment in my home for all my children's friends and would save all of the children in the world, if I could. I just tell my children of my own personal experiences identifying as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community so that they always feel safe opening up and confiding in me about these things. It matters."
